48

That's the number of minutes I got to spend with my kids these past days. 48 minutes out of 72 hours. That's 48 minutes out of 4320 which equals to 2%.

2%!!!

Yesterday I was really worn out. Believe it or not, when I arrived at the office, I took an hour and slept in the car to recharge. Even then when I walked in the office, I was still groggy from fatigue plus other matters that I no need to mention here. Luckily I only had to be on standby for the meeting and not actually have to attend it. So for once, I got to go home on time. The best part was, when I reached home, Dania asked me, "Ibu, didn't you got o work today?"

Yep, having me come home at 12pm had become the norm for the kids. So seeing me walk in the door at 7pm was cause for celebration. I made them stay up for as long as they could on a school night and just cuddled up with them in front of the TV.

It's during times like this I wonder if my decision to be a FTWM is the right thing for my kids. But this is just seasonal. Let's hope the all the havoc and hard work pays out and things can settle back to normal.

Being a working mom is hard to do. You miss so much of you children’s special moments. The time you can spend with them needs to full of joy. I raised two beautiful daughter and can say for sure they are worth every minute. Hugs Linda

Beb,
Sama lah kita. keluar waktu subuh, balik waktu malam...
I always try to make the little time that I have for them cordial for all. I.e. Minimal jerit-jerit and lebih hugs and kisses..

And Yes, thank god it's seasonal...

I just don't know how you do it. I've enjoyed being a stay at home mom, and I wish all moms had that chance. =(

LInda: Hi, thanx for dropping by. Yep, being a working mom is hard. I hope my kids are more independant because of this fact.

Dilla: Trying to make everyone happy is such a juggling act. Sometimes so tired but at the end of the day, looking at my kids faces, it all seems worth it.

AJB: I wish I would find some job that would satisfy the worker bee inside me yet allow me to be there for my kids too.

JAD: I look forward to welcoming you back into the working realm. Heee..no probs babe, we "pulun" together and thrive together. Insya'allah.

Long,

I was there once when I was a product owner and during my " solution consultant" days. Now, I'm very happy with my job in which I can get out from the office at 5pm almost everyday. Yes, I'm not very ambitious work wise nowadays, but I love the time spend with the kids in the evening. It will over soon enough Long. Just hang in there.
