Introducing.....Daria Syazmin!!!

Yes, I've finally delivered..a healthy baby girl!! Another one!! Hahahaha, people have been sms'ing me..Congratulations on your Powerpuff Girls/Totally Spies/Charlie's Angels. Oh my, hubby is so outnumbered.

As I predicted in my last post, it turned out that I was 5cm dilated. I think my doctor was actually more relieved than I was. Hee. They wheeled me in directly into the labour room and started hooking up the IV drip. My doctor came a few minutes later and helped break my water bag. She also had to "dig in" and push the baby's head lower as the head was still high. Don't ask, it's as gruesome as it sounds.

Hubby was there for most of the action. He almost missed the actual delivery. In fact, so did my doctor. Yep, there was a time when I went from 7cm to 10cm in 5 minutes. Maybe it was less but what I remember was the nurse trying to get me to turn to my left as the baby's heartbeat was showing some distress. Now, I was in the midst of a MAJOR contraction at the time; no way could I move or anything. So in the end, the nurses had to push and hold me onto my side. They had called the doctor already because they were concerned about the baby.

I remember one of the nurses asking me whether I felt like pooping; classic sign of the baby turning and preparing to come out. I remember saying no, not yet. Then 10 seconds later, I was screaming "I NEED TO POOP!! I NEED TO POOP!!" In the midst of my screams, I was also calling out for hubby (he was standing out the labour room because of all the commotion). One nurse went to call him in, while the other one told me "DO NOT PUSH!! The doctor's on the way".

Are you freaking kidding me?!! I screamed back "I DON'T CARRRREEEE!!" and proceeded to push. I felt the head come out and the nurses calling for suction. What happened next was a bit hazy; I don't remember when hubby came in or when the doctor arrived. I just remember excruciating pain then...nothing. Just sounds of my baby crying. And the feeling of it kicking around my thigh area. Apparently everything happened so quickly, they didn't even have time to put me into stirrups.

I was admitted at 1.11pm and delivered at 3.15pm. Welcome to the world, Daria Syazmin.

One day old.
Massive head of hair!! It's what everyone comments on upon seeing her.

This Could Be The Day!!

Contractions every 10 minutes apart. Also blood showing while I was in the shower this morning.

This could be it, people! The day I've been waiting for. Baby time!!

I'm waiting for hubby to come back from grocery shopping. I have my hospital bag all set and ready.

This baby is so different from its sisters. Damn, why am I already feeling contractions?! They're coming on rather strong but if memory serves me right, they're still in the "mild" category. I don't think my water bag has burst or anything. I do hope when I get to the hospital, the doctor will announce I'm 5cm dilated or more.

I'm feeling excited, anxious and relived all at once. Pray for us that everything goes well. Unless I'm having a false alarm, next time I post will be with a baby in my arms. :D.

And The Best Birthday Present Would Be....

to go into labor..right now!! Hahahaha...

The girls woke me up this morning with birthday wishes and kisses. I was still drousy with sleep, what with waking up every hour to go to the toilet. My mom called too and asked whether we would be celebrating. Hah!! The only place I want to be celebrating right now is in the delivery room at the hospital.

I still have plenty to be grateful for though. I have a great husband, 2 wonderful girls, another baby 9/10 on the way, a beautiful home, a wonderful bibik to help me with the chores, my parents are still healthy, a job that I'm beginning to love again.

So many achievments to show for during my 33 years on Earth. Here's to many more...

Work Award

Nothing has changed since yesterday despite the "effort" hubby and I made. Hmmm....

On to some great news, I was nominated and chosen for the GCEO Merit Award for 2008!! Whippeee!! Really didn't expect this but totally appreciate it. Thanks to my boss for the nomination. Tak sia2 aku letih turun naik ke Penang untuk KTAK project tu. I don't know what the award gives but I think some money is involved. Hehehe, ok la..money for the baby. Maybe now we can afford that super trendy car seat we saw at Mid Valley last week. Hehe.

It's not often you get this type of recognition at work, especially when you work for such a big company. So this award means something extra special. If it wasn't for my enormous tummy, I would be jumping up and down with joy.

Aaaannnddd We're Back From the Hospital..Still Pregnant

0 cm!! Totally closed!! No babies coming out today.

Arghhh...I even dreamt last night that the doctor would announce I was already 6cm dilated. Hah! Even she was a little surprised during my check up. She said normally for the third child, labor starts rather early. We checked the fetal's heartbeat and everything looked normal.

I asked my doctor what I could do to help start the labor process.

"Make love...every night."

"Seriously? That actually works?"

"Worked for me."

Heee...hmm...we'll see. I'm the point where I could probably stay pregnant for another year. Whatever. It's just so tiring to even think about it anymore.

On to good news, it rained today!! Like totally poured!! Complete with lightning and thunder. Ooo, how I've missed storms. The air smelled so fresh afterwards. Ahhhh....

Hot and Bothered..Still Pregnant

Tammy and Victor won the Amazing Race and the USD1 Million prize. Woohoo!! Out of the 3 teams in the final, they were the ones I was rooting for.

*****************************************************

My next check up is scheduled for tomorrow morning. Depending on whether I'm dilated or not, the doctor might admit me into the delivery room. If not, I may have to wait another week and will officially be overdue. Hubby's getting a little worried that I'm not showing any signs of delivering soon. He's afraid something's going to happen to the baby. So far, the baby is still moving rather actively, especially at night. But it is a little weird, seeing how Dania came 3 weeks early and Dina came 2 days before her due date.

I really hope I give birth tomorrow, eventhough it's not a date I particularly like. I know hubby will be in the delivery room with me for the whole ordeal. Though if I gave him a choice, he would prefer to wait it out in the waiting room. Hubby can't stand the sight of blood. At Dania's birth, he almost fainted!! Same went for Dina's. But I think it's important for him to be amongst the first to welcome his child into the world. Plus I personally feel hubbies should be there to support their wives through this life and death situation. Hopefully it makes them feel grateful for what their wives are willing to go through.

I have yet to pack my bag for the hospital trip; I think I'll do that tonight. It's just too hot to be doing anything during the day. Hubby said the weatherman predicted the hot spell might last until September!! Goodness!! Damn this global warming!

*****************************************************

The girls are having their mid term exams this week. Here's hoping they do well. School holidays are coming up end of the month but we won't be going anywhere. Maybe just to my parents place. See how I'm doing during confinement.

I'm off to take another shower. Blast this hot weather!!

What I Still Miss About the States

If there's one more thing I miss about being in the states is the shopping at the factory outlets. I mean seriously, that was so much fun. Branded clothes for like 1/3 of the original prices (or less). Not that we don't have great warehouse sales here in Malaysia, but when it comes to branded clothes, not that much. Plus, they always bring out clothes that looked like they came from the 90's..really old stuff.

I used to love going shopping at The Gap. I loved their khaki pants and t-shirts. Sure, we have The Gap here in Malaysia too, but with the prices...somehow it doesn't feel like I'm getting the same deal.

I miss Victoria Secret too. Say what you want about these super skimpy lingerie, whenever I needed a pick-me-upper, nothing did it better than buying some sexy underwear. Not only did they look good (I'm not saying I have the best butt out there, but still), they were comfortable too. Now, all I do is go on to their website and droll. Hahaha...

In terms of food, I miss the pizza. Papa John's to be exact. There was just something in the sauce that made it soooo good! Thank god, they've finally opened Papa John's here in Malaysia. We went there for hubby's birthday. Not the original plan (I had tried to book a dinner cruise at the Putrajaya Lake) but we did have lots of fun. The girls loved the pizza, while hubby and I took the opportunity to reminiscent about our younger days. Heee..

The girls being cute while waiting for the pizzas to arrive.
The birthday boy and his princesses.
Everyone loving the pizza!!

Happy Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day. The girls gave me a card they made at school and a single rose. It wasn't a real flower and I was the one who gave them the money to buy it in the 1st place, but it's the thought that counts.

Because of our late night last night, I woke up late. I decided to take my doctor's advice and do a bit of walking. What better place to walk about but a shopping mall, right? We set out from home around 6pm and decided to have an early dinner. I was craving for Chillies so that's where we went. We shopped around for a baby car seat but none were up to our satisfaction. Well, actually one was but it was damn expensive!! Like RM2,500. We went into this high-end baby store and they were selling Moses baskets for like RM350!! It's a basket, for crying out loud. It's not like it has a bottle holder or anything.

The girls had fun. I caved in to their demands for a new watch. Dina, of course picked one with pink flowers, while Dania picked a blue one with fishes on it. Each cost RM10, but I gave the girls strict instructions not to bring the watches to school or the playground. The last ones I bought them only lasted a week before the straps came off.

My mom and aunts have been calling me for updates. I told them I might get induced this Wednesday depending on the situation. My mom said she had a dream that I had already given birth. Hahaha, it seems like she's more anxious about this than I am.

I want to take this opportunity to wish every mother and mother-to-be a very Happy Mother's Day.

Yep...Still Pregnant

I missed one day of blogging yesterday and got a few calls and sms's asking whether the Big Day had finally arrived. Alas, it hasn't still. Blehh!

I had my check up yesterday and even the doctor knew better than to crack any jokes about how pregnant I was. She assured me that everything was on schedule; the baby was in a good position, heartbeat going strong, amniotic fluid still ok. Other than wait it out, there wasn't much else she could advice me to do. She did suggest walking about more, which despite my bum leg, I'm trying to do. I ended up doing circles in my room last evening, in my underwear with the aircon on full blast. It was just too hot for me to walk about anywhere and anyhow else.

We recalculated my due date and it seems I'm due on the 13th instead of the 15th. Which is..woohoo!! So I have my next check up next Wednesday and the doctor said, if I'm already dilated 3cm or more, she'll put me on a drip to induce the labour. I told her that's what happened for both my previous children; the doctor had to put me on a drip and break my water bag before I could even felt any contractions.

We might be going out for dinner tonight, sort of a last eat-you-can thing for me before I start confinement. O man, confinement in this type of weather is not going to be fun. How I'm going to survive 40 days of it is anyone's guess.

39 Weeks..Still Pregnant

How is it that I'm actually looking forward to the labour pains, right now? I'm just tired of being so uncomfortable. Last night I hardly got any sleep, thanks to the baby playing Smells Like Teen Spirit on drums all night long. Just as I had fallen asleep, 30 minutes later I had to wake up to go to pee. It then took me another hour to fall back to sleep, which of course was interrupted with another toilet trip. Grrr...have I mentioned how tired I am being pregnant?!!

I am totally hooked on watching The Biggest Loser. How is it watching overweight people lose weight become so emotional? Weird!

**************************************************

I've been thinking about where to go for our year end holiday. I know the kids want to go to HK and see Disneyland. I'm a bit worried about this whole swine flu business. Maybe we should go to Australia again...Sydney this time. Listen to me plan, like we have so much money to spend in the 1st place. Haha, berangan. *Sigh*.
