Janji nak hantar phone baru dalam masa 7 working days, sampai sekarang takde pun. Isy...tau tak betapa seksanya takleh berwhatsapp dan BBM orang. Bila En rashid call, depa kata bleh datang ke ofis depa ambik sendiri kalau takleh tunggu. Delivery charges RM10 tu, depa pulangkan in terms of voucher. Nak buat apa voucher?!! Maleh nak beli apa2 dari site ni lagi...ppfffttt!!

Tensen. Tensen keje. Tensen hal phone. Tensen.

Nak duduk rumah je la baru best. Alonghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04216763409428044080noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8105183.post-62943383061301767532012-11-23T11:40:00.000+08:002012-11-23T11:40:01.715+08:00Terima Kasih Bagi Aku Ketawa Terbahak2 Hari Ni..Pagi tadi masa tengah drop offkan bebudak kat transit, aku singgah gerai depan beli suratkhabar. Lama dah tak pegang suratkhabar fizikal, asyik baca via twitter or internet je. Sebab nak baca berita ringan2, aku beli Harian Metro.

Metro ni memang tak pernah kecewakan aku la. Kalau bab bagi heading berita gempak2, memang tabik spring kat penulis2 Metro. Padahal bila baca isi kandung dia, takde la gempak mana pun cerita dia. Heading je lebih...hehehehe.

So sambik En Rashid bawak kereta pi keje, aku pun dok baca paper kat sebelah macam mem. Nak duduk belakang, macam over la plak. Hahahaha..

Ada satu iklan dalam paper Metro harini yang memang buat aku ngan En Rashid rasa nak terkencing bila baca. Lawak nak mampos.

Korang klik la kat image atas tu kalau nak baca in detail. Tapi aku bleh highlightkan sket, ungkapan2 hebat dari iklan ni.

"Sebelum menggunakan [PRODUCT] beliau berasa amat malu dan tidak yakin pada suami.."
Komen: Apa? Kenapa ko nak malu kat suami tu kalau tetek ko kecik? Suami ko kawin ngan ko sebab tetek ke?

"Dia berasa cemburu apabila melihat pasangan suami isteri yang lain bahagia sedangkan beliau sendiri hampir melali pergolakan rumahtangga akibat masalah beliau ini."
Komen: Orang lain bahagia tu takkan la sebab tetek si isteri tu besar! Ko pun, takkan la nak bercerai sebabkan tetek ko kecik! Come on la...ni mentaliti mana ni? Nak kata mentaliti kampung, orang kampung tu takde akal kecik camni...

"Bagi anda yang mengalami masalah yang sama dan tidak mahu suami berpaling kepada wanita lain...."
Komen: Hah?!! Suami nak carim pompuan lain sebab tetek isteri kecik? Silakan...silakan..hahaha...macam la kote hang tu panjang sejengkal ye tak? Muahahaha. Lagipun, isn;t the saying, The way to a man's heart is through his stomach? Dari ko nak kisahkan tetek ko yang kecik tu, cuba pikat hati suami dengan masak sedap2. Ni kalau tetek ko membuak macam Pamela Anderson pun tapi masak air pun fail, tak payah la!

"Cegah sebelum terlambat"
Komen: Cegah apa? Cegah keruntuhan rumahtangga sebab tetek kecik. Kalau itula yang dijadikan alasan, then ladies...you're better off without the man. Please find someone who can love you for who you are and what you look like.

Actually, aku tak kisah iklan2 macam ni. But come on la....cara ko menjual product tu bleh tak jangan bagi reason2 kenapa kena beli yang merepek camni. Kalau stress on self satisfaction ke...hal kesihatan ke... ok la sket...ni soh beli krim ni supaya laki jangan lari.

Sian Puan Daisy....Alonghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04216763409428044080noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8105183.post-19287188229471015542012-11-21T17:55:00.000+08:002012-11-21T17:55:27.330+08:00Lost!!I lost my Blackberry!!

Uwwaaaa!!!!

Seriously...this sucks big time. The best thing is, I lost it at Legoland!!

Freaking stupid Legoland. Curse that place! Grrrrr...

OK, so our trip to Legoland was a huge bust. 1st, we only got in after nearly one hour lining up for tickets. Before you roll your eyes and say "why didn't you just buy tickets online?", it was because I wanted to use the "Kids Enter Free" vouchers. Kids tickets cost RM110, so I saved RM330 by using them.

It was freaking hot in the afternoon and mid-day, which was kind of expected. But then it started to rain around 3pm. And rained. And rained. Complete with thunder and lightning. Since there was lightning involved, all the rides stopped and everybody huddled indoors for hot coffee.

RM7.50 for a cup of hot coffee!! Shhheeeettt!!!

It was during one of my many trips to the toilet that I left it there. Huuhuhuhu...I can still see it in my mind, balanced on the tissue dispenser.

The worst part is that I lost all my photos that I took at Legoland. All my photos with Rachel Allen (yes, I met her! And she taught me how to cook!!). All my photos with Sarimah. Huhuhuhu...and also my photos taken during the Run For Your Lungs event.

So now I'm using this cokia HP phone that doesn't even have Whatsapp installed. En Rashid bought a new Samsung Galaxy S3, which he plans to let me use. So I guess I'm going android.

Bye Bye BB!

Alonghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04216763409428044080noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8105183.post-1679550664747076402012-11-18T00:01:00.000+08:002012-11-18T00:01:33.675+08:00We Did It!!Last Sunday, hubby and I entered the Run For Your Lungs event at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. This is an annual event held by the various associations to bring awareness about tuberculosis (TB) and its dangers. I was rather skeptic when En Rashid told me about the event. Truth be told, I HATE running, I've never been much of a runner, even when I was younger. But since he had already done the deed and paid the fees, I decided to just join and try to have fun. Plus, a few of our office mates were also joining the event, so at least I could run (or walk fast) with other people.

The event was to start at 730am, so the night before, we headed to my mom's house. Being without a maid, we had to think of where to drop off the kids before going. My mom was more than happy to take them. Hehehehe.

We headed out from my mom's house on Sunday at around 6.30am. We had no idea where the starting point was, so we just park at the nearest parking spot and starting walking about. We met up with a few more participants who were also looking for the starting point, so together we scouted the area. Seriously, they could have put up more signboards to alert the participants, especially newcomers like En Rashid and myself. Fortunately one of the people we met up with got hold of one of the organizers, who told us where to go.

It was mostly all photo taking sessions while waiting for the event to start. There were 7 categories altogether, A - Men's Open, C- Women's Open, B - Men's Veteran, D- Women's Veteran,E- Men's Teenagers, F- Women's Teenagers and G- Family/fun Run. We, of course, entered the G category. Heee. For categories A-D, it was a 7km run, while E and F had to run 5km. Category G only had to run 3km.

Around 750am, the blast went off for category G. And I started running.

And continued to run.

And kept on running.

Seriously, I went much further than I expected during my first round of running. It was only when I had trouble breathing, did I stop but continued by power walking instead. After a bit, I continued running again. Then power walked.

Then all of a sudden, I was back to the starting line so I decided to make a final sprint.

And it felt good. My muscles were screaming out and I was having trouble catching my breath, plus let's not talk about the buckets of sweat that was pouring out of my pores....but I felt really good!

Enjoy the pictures!!
The birthday cake, made by Aida. I asked my SIL if there was any theme, she just said anything blue. So I had a baby boy in blue sitting on a football, since my bro is a football fanatic. Sib baik tak dengki soh letak flag Liverpool or Arsenal. Hehehee.
God this write up is taking forever!! I'll try to make this quick, with lots of pictures.

So Day 4 is the day we went to see the Sumo match. The match was in Tokyo, which gave us an excellant excuse to ride the Shinkansen, which means bullet train in Japanese.

The fastest Shinkensan is the Nozomi, which links Osaka and Tokyo while going through other cities as well. From Osaka, we needed to go to Shin-Osaka station and buy the tickets from there. It was a bit confusing at first coz I had thought that the ride would be a direct trip with no transits. In the end, it didn't matter because the train only stopped at the various stations on the way to Tokyo for like 2 minutes each.

How much did the Nozomi tickets cost? Hahahahhahaa....seriously, you wanna know. All in all, 2 way tickets from Osaka - Tokyo for 2 adults came up to about 52,000 yen. Which is about RM2,000!! Hahahhaha, En Rashid almost got a heart attack when he saw the amount but he can't say I didn't warn him. I had told him earlier (like when we were still back in Malaysia( that the tickets would cost about RM500 per person one way. I guess he didn't hear the "one person one way" part. Hehehehe.

Anyhow, we bought the tickets and then headed up to the platform where the next train was due to depart. We bought the unreserved seats so for half of the way to Tokyo, we didn't get to sit next to each other. Only when people had gotten down to at Nagoya did we get to sit with each other.

This is how the inside of the Nozomi train looks like. The seats were very comfortable (well, if i"m paying RM2000, they'll better be!!) and they could recline much better than the normal plane seats. There were a lot of businessmen on board, I guess most of them transit between their home and work place using the bullet train everyday.

Piece of advice: If you wanna experience the Shinkansen but don't want to pay a bomb, just buy tickets from Osaka to Kyoto. It's much cheaper (dunno how much but should not be more than a few hundred ringgit) and the trip is only 15 minutes.

The trip to Tokyo took us a little bit over 2 hours which was pretty fast seeing how the distance is about 246 miles or 395km. Apparently the train can go up to 270km/hr so it was awesomely fast!!

Nagoya was one of the stations that we stopped at on the way. I kept thinking of my MIL and her obsession with Nagoya silk and cloth. Hehehehe..
Here's the view of the Ryogoku Stadium from across the street. The colorful buntings are actually the names of all the Sumo wrestlers.
At last!! My most wanted photo with the Sumo wrestlers!! These were actually from the Junior league..not the professional league. Those dudes only came out when it was time for them to wrestle.

We were actaully trying to find our seats when we came across these dudes. Sian, depa tengah nak makan lunch, alih2 ada minah tersengih2 nak ajak ambik gambar. Sib baik tak kena duduk!! Hahahha...
This is the view we had from our seats. Pretty good actually. We could see eveything. The best part about the match is that you could rent mini radios from the lobby for 100 yen to listen to the English commentators. Made the tournament so much more interesting because the commentator would talk about the wrestlers and their track records and their favorite techniques, so you would get a better appreciation for the sport.
Sometimes, the referee's decision (the dude in golden robes) is not final and may be disputed by the five shimpan (judges) seated around the ring (the dudes in black robes). If this happens they will meet in the center of the ring to hold a mono-ii (lit: a talk about things). After reaching a consensus they can uphold or reverse the referee's decision or order a rematch, known as a torinaoshi.

OK, itu copy paste je dari Wiki..but just to let you know it happened once during the tournament. Both wrestlers fell at the same time and the referee could not decide who won (dia main tunjuk je la side mana2 dulu). Dah habis diskus kat tengah, in the end, the judges decided to have a rematch. Best giller!
BB Plaza nak kena roboh?

Hmmm..walaupun dah bertahun sebenarnya tak ke area KL kat situ, tapi area Lot10 and BB Plaza tetap menjadi tempat nostalgia waktu remaja.

Tempat tu la dulu tempat dituju time girls outing ngan kekawan asrama dulu...Kowie, Nira, Fara, Amoi...Peej, ko takde sebab ko duduk Kluang...kalau ko dok Klang, maybe ko bleh join. Hehehe..

Tempat ni dulu aku pi double date ngan x-bf aku, Mr. F. Bukan double date la...dia bwk best friend dia, aku bawak adik aku. Hahaha..siap bodyguard. Yang kelakar, adik aku tak impress ngan Mr. F..sebab apa ntah aku tak ingat.

Tempat ni dulu tempat nak shopping baju T yang time tu dianggap cukup branded. BUM, Quicksilver dan yang sewaktu dengannya. Rasanya Tshirt BUM aku tu ada lagi kot.

Tempat ni memang banyak kenangan. Rasanya anak2 aku pun blum pernah aku bawak jejalan ke sana. Maybe aku kena bawak satu hari...sebelum diroboh.

Kenangan..kenangan...Alonghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04216763409428044080noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8105183.post-36700089617624567202012-06-25T13:50:00.000+08:002012-06-25T13:54:07.169+08:00Japan Trip - Day 3The weather for day 3 was much better. The sun was shining and it was nice, thanks to the cool breeze.

Our first destination was the Osaka Science Museum. It was walking distance from our hotel so it made sense to visit that first then head out to the other attractions further away. It took us only 10 minutes to get there, thanks to the numerous signs pointing the way.

Again, this was a free attraction with the Pass. When we got there, we saw many kindergarten children going on a school trip. They looked so cute in their tiny uniforms, lining up with their caps and bags on.

One word of caution, the museum does not have a stitch of English in it!! Like all the exhibitions were written in Japanese. You could read the heading, which was in English but the description was all in Japanese. This frustrated En Rashid to no end. Hahaha.

Since we were unable to read any of the descriptions, we moved through the museum rather quickly. There was a section of the museum where you could try out things hands on. Even that, I had to wait for the kids to try them first to understand what to do.

The kids trying out the games there. En Rashid had already moved along and was calling me to hurry up. Ala..nak main gak game2 ni.

Somehow I feel this camera is more powerful than the camera I have. Maybe mine should belong in a museum. Also, see...everything written in Japanese. I told En Rashid, I shall go home and learn Japanese, then come back here and read every goddamn description there is!!

Somehow this TV reminded me of my late Tokki and how we would turn the knob trying to find a clear TV reception. I miss those days.

This is the Osaka Science Museum from outside. The museum actually had many floors but we skipped everything seeing how we couldn't read at all.

Right next to it is the National Museum of Art. We didn't go in here because 1. En Rashid is not a fan or art and 2. It wasn't free, only discounted using the Pass.

Notice anything funny? The pumps are hanging from the ceiling. I just thought that was so cool I had to take a photo.

Our next destination was the Osaka Museum of History. We had skipped this the day before because it was closed. The museum is just 5 minutes away from the Osaka Castle.

Again, like the Science Museum, everything here was written in Japanese too. However, there was still so much to just see and observe. That piece of architecture up there is actually.....

This showed the atmosphere in the palace's main hall. All the dayang-dayangs and what-not. They had people with titles such as the Imperial Curtain Attendant. I guess her job was to make sure the curtains matched the emperor's clothes or something like that.
This was an activity that I did at one of the kids section. Dah takde keje kan, main camtum2kan pasu artifek. They had the real vase displayed nearby. It was impressive, the amount of artifacts they had intact.

These are actual kids' toys made from clay. Notice the dogs? Like WTH?

We spent quite some time at the museum. Actually I did viewed most of the displays; after a while En Rashid just sat in a corner playing on his iPad.

So then it was time to find food. We wanted to try out some authentic Japanese food but before that, we just had to try some delicious waffles from Manneken. We bought the set deal which allowed us to sample every type of waffle they had. Even the green tea waffle was delicious.

Then we went in search of this restaurant we had read about in one of the guides. We finally found it after 30 minutes of walking in the wrong direction. Grrrr. But the food was worth it. It was totally filling, partly because the rice was the "kanji" type.
En Rashid waited until I had finished the whole thing then asked me "sedap tak?" I was like "sedap!" Then he said, "You do realise you just ate eel?"

WTH?!!

Rupanya yang tempura panjang tu belut rupanya. Alahai, sib baik cakap lepas dah habis makan. Kalau tengah maka, mesti terkeluar balik.

Ngada! Time pelahap semua sedap. Dah tau belut, tetiba rasa geli lak. Padahal sedap je...hehehehe.

This is the restaurant that we ate at. Very simple decor, and the waitress was very friendly. Not so good English but I was able to communicate with my basic Japanese.

After filling our tummies, we decided to head out to see the Botanical Garden. It was quite a ride on the subway getting there and from the station, we had to walk quite a distance. We passed a few fields; here some elderly people were playing croquet.

Entrance to the gardens was free thanks again to the Unlimited Pass. I didn't take many pictures because sincerely, my camera does not do the flowers justice. Just take my word for it when I say the flowers were beautiful!!

This was in the rose garden. The place was exotic! And smelled so nice. We spent a few minutes just sitting under the shade, admiring the flowers. There were just so many types of roses.
En Rashid made an observation; there were two type of people who liked to come to the Botanical Garden...photographers and old people. Photographers, for obvious reasons...old people, because they could die in such a peaceful place. Hahahaha...I would like to stress that we did not fall into any of those categories.
Beside the gardens, was the osaka museum of natural history. We didn't go because 1) En Rashid had had enough of museums already and 2) it wasn't free (but discounted with the Pass).

After walking for so long, we decided to head back to the hotel for prayers and a quick nap. We then headed out to the Dotonbori area to catch the night life in Osaka.

This is us on the Dotonbori River Cruise, another attraction that was free with the Pass. It was a great way to see the whole Dotonbori stretch without getting tired.
This was our guide, a funny man. He made us wave to every passerby on the street. Hahaha. The commentary was done mostly in Japanese but he did say a few things in English to accommodate us.
The neon Glico "running man" signboard. One of the popular landmarks of Japan. I think it was related to a candy or something but they used the running man for other national interests too.
The famous takoyaki. There was one stall just beside the river cruise ticket counter so we headed there after the boat ride. It took a while for them to get cooked but boy was it worth it. Sodapnya!! Even just looking at the photos and my mouth is watering. Yummy!!
En Rashid in front of the shop. Muka puas hati sebab dapat beli takoyaki. We ate while strolling along the other side of Dotonbori, taking in the sights and sounds. It was a very good day for us; we did a lot of sightseeing and we ate to our hearts' content.

...yang hilang sekejap kat Ikea semalam.

Kejap, nampak dia tengah asyik tengok alat yang testing bukak tutup laci ikea tu berkali2 ngan Dina.

Kejap, tengok Dina dah pi kat Abah dia tapi adik dah out of sight.

En Rashid tanya aku "mana adik?"

Terus semua orang speedwalking satu Ikea mencarik si kenit.

Sket lagi aku nak merangkak on all fours sebab nak make sure dia tak main sorok2 kat belakang meja and langsir.

En Rashid patah balik ke tempat2 sofa...aku pi ke tempat katil2.

BBM memasing..."I DON'T SEE HER!!"

Sekali dengar announcement...kepada ibu bapa seorang kanak2 perempuan berumur 2-3 tahun, memakai baju berwarna pink, sila datang ke customer service area sekarang...anak anda di sini."

Meluru kitaorg turun ke bawah balik.

Tengok adik dah hysterical. Puas minah2 ikea tu cuba nak pujuk.

Dari atas tangga aku melambai sambil jerit..."adik!! Ibu sini!!"

Semua orang pandang. Lantak la. Mesti depa pikir, apa punya mak, bleh hilang anak kat Ikea ni.

Puas aku peluk cium adik lepas tu. Ucap terima kasih kat minah2 ikea sebab selamatkan adik.

I don't even want to think about what could have happened if someone else could have grabbed her.

It only took a minute.

A minute of distraction.

A minute of looking away.

Lepas tu, adik terus tak nak berrenggang ngan aku. Asyik suruh aku dukung dia, peluk dia. Traumtized agaknya. Sian adik.Alonghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04216763409428044080noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8105183.post-3636828441576172362012-06-16T01:51:00.000+08:002012-06-16T01:52:01.733+08:00Japan Trip - Day 2OK, so continue wth Day 2.

We woke up rather early but still had no real idea where to head to. Oya, usually I would be the one constantly doing research for our trips but due to my finals and work issues, I just ahd no time to research much. In the end, we decided we HAD to see the castle and just go along with whatever attraction that Osaka had to offer.

The best way to actually enjoy Osaka would be to buy the Osaka Unlimited Pass. For 2700 Yen, you get a pass that allows you unlimited rides on the subway and also entrance to the main attractions in Osaka and some discounts to others. We should have bought the pass at the airport so the first 2 hours was spent trying to get to the nearest Information Center (which we found out was at Namba Station...like duh!) and purchse the passes there.

Once we had the passes, we headed straight to Osaka Castle. It had started drizzling when we arrived but not so much that we could still walk there from the station.
This was in front of the big entrance leading up to the castle. You can see teh castle in the background. It was raining slightly and very windy so it was rather cold.
This is the Osaka Castle. There's 7 floors, each floor is dedicated to a different theme but mostly it's about the wars that happened in Osaka and the important people involved. I didn't take many photos here because exhibitions did not allow any photography. So En Rashid and I just took our time walking around, looking at the videos and historical artifacts.
This is the view from the observation platform. That building with the black round dome thingy is the Museum of Natural History. It was closed that day (every Tuesday) but was included as one of the free attractions in our Pass, so we decided to come back and visit it the next day.
En Rashid enjoying the view. There was a gift shop inside too but we didn't buy anything. Bloody keychain cost like RM20!! WTH?!
Oya, forgot to mention that it was my birthday that day. The best gift (other than being in Japan with En Rashid) was dressing up in an authentic kimono! Bestnya!! This was on the ground floor as we were exiting the castle. This lady had set up a stall that had all these kimonos and samurai outfits to choose from. Best thing was it only cost 300 Yen per person. And you could take as many photos as you like.
There were a lot of school children around, on school trips so we could always call on one of them to help take a picture of the two of us. You can't see it here but we were both actually freezing at the time. It was still drizzling and the wind was rather strong.
Right next to the castle, you can visit the Osaka Castle Nishinomaru Garden. Unfortunately for us, the sakura trees had stopped blooming but it was still a pretty sight. This photo was taken in one of the houses there. Apparently the yo-yo is a deadly weapon!! Hehehe.
After all that walking around and playing with samurai sword, we were famished. So we headed to Tennoji station to find some food. What I love about the restaurants in Japan is that they display everything on their menu up front. And seriously, what you see is what you get. No false advertising here. We choose this pasta restaurant because it looked delicious and the menu was also written in English.
After lunch, we walked around for a bit. It was still raining outside, so we just strolled inside the shopping complex. We got rather addicted to the coffee shops over there; every few hours we would stop to buy hot mocha or capachino. Here we are enjoying a cup while En Rashid is constantly trying to find free wifi. Wifi was available everywhere but you could only access it of you had an account. Even in Starbucks, the wifi was password protected. Sigh...
We had planned to go find the Shitennoji Temple (also free) but it started to rain heavily and both of us had no raincoat or umbrella. So instead we decided to head back to the hotel for prayers and a quick nap. When we got there, this envelope was waiting under our door....
...it was our Sumo tickets!! They had arrived safe and sound. I had purchased them online and had asked the purchaser to post them to the hotel as that would cost less than having them post to Malaysia.
After a quick dinner (more bread), we headed out to see the Floating Garden Observatory. The directions said "10 minutes walk from the Hankyu station" but we still got a bit lost. Once we got to the building, there was the matter of finding out how to get to the 173rd floor. The directions were in Japanese, so we just kind of deciphered the diagram and finally made our way up. We needed to take a lift to the 3rd floor then change lifts to the 170th floor. Then take the longest escalator ever to the 172nd floor. Then you go up some stairs to the observation deck. This is me trying to stay cool but actually getting a little bit of vertigo feeling.
We spent half an hour enjoying the sights from the deck. The sky was clear and you could see for miles. This is the view from the ground floor, looking up towards the deck. Pretty cool.
This is the entrance to the building to go up. It doesn't say "Observation deck here" so we were walking around a bit trying to find out how to get up there.

Then we walked over to the HEP FIVE Ferris Wheel. HEP stands for Hankyu Entertainment Park. Sini ada lagi ke Hankyu? Anyway, the ferris wheel was basically on the roof of the Hankyu shopping mall. We were the only ones on it which made it feel slightly more romantic. Hehehe..the ride took around 15 minutes so it was a nice, relaxing way to end the day.

Before heading back to the hotel, we took a quick detour to Hard Rock cafe. Then back to the hotel for some well needed rest.

Ok, so 3 people have been bugging me to write about my Japan trip. I think I had better start before I forget the details. I can tell you this though; I still have the Osaka vibe with me, seriously...5 days was not enough to experience everything.

Our flight to Kansai airport was at 815am, which meant we had to check in before 6am. Thanks to my brother for spending the night at our house to drive us to the airport at 5am. After checking in, we had breakfast at Oldtown cafe. RM5 for toast, seriously? Hmmm...

The flight was rather long and uneventful. We had ordered food on board but I was too restless to enjoy it. Finally, around 3pm, we touched down in Osaka.

After grabbing our luggage, we headed to the Information Counter to find out the best way to our hotel. The lady there suggested we take the bus into town, the take the subway to our hotel. She gave us directions to the bus terminal and also how to get to our hotel from the subway. We had to take the airport limousine bus to Namba then take the subway from there to our station, Hirobashi. Finding which bus to take was easy; there was a very kind pakcik that help us with our ticket purchases.

The pakcik at the ticket dispenser machine. Everything was written in Japanese, so it really helped having local people assisting. And trust me, all of them were so accommodating and friendly.

Once we had our tickets, we lined up to wait for the bus. It didn't take long for the bus to arrive; the best thing was that it came right on time. Like on the dot!! Super efficient!

All of the bus stops had names of their connecting stops with numbers so its pretty easy to find out which bus you should be taking. Once we had reached Namba, we had to take the subway to our station near the hotel.

En Rashid figuring out what to have for dinner, hehehe. This was while we were waiting for the subway to arrive. The stations were pretty easy to figure out once we had a map and had a few ridden the train a few times.

Our station was Hirobashi, which was only 4 stops from Namba. It helped that they had the English version of the station names written on the walls.

This is the hotel we stayed at; Chisun Inn Umeda. This was actually our second choice after Dotonbori Hotel which was rather expensive but right smack in Dotonbori. I got a great deal for the rates from Expedia; about RM170 per night. Which meant more money to spend on food and shopping! Heehehe.

This is the view from the front door. Even from here you can see that the room is rather small. Entering the hallway, you have the washer to your left and shoe rack to your right. I had intended to use the washer as we both brought just enough clothes to last us until the last day but all the directions on how to use the damn machine was in Japanese. Calling the front desk wasn't much help since they only spoke basic English. Oh well...

This is the bathroom, small but had everything we needed. I can imagine that it would be a tight squeeze for anyone over 6 feet though. What I loved about the bathroom was the heated toilet seat. I mean, seriously!! It made going to do your business so much more pleasurable. Hahahaha...

The room also had its own kitchenette, complete with plates, mugs and glasses. There was even a small cooker, though we didn't cook anything while we were there. They also had a microwave in the room, plus a hairdryer but no clothes iron.

This was the bed. A bit of a squeeze for both of us but comfy enough. The pillows were a bit too hard for me.

I had booked a double room with tatami mat which turned out to be a good thing because only when we had pushed the table to one side, did we have space for prayers. We did have our breakfast at the table so we at least made some effort to eat like the Japanese. Hee. The TV only had Japanese channels which seemed to always be showing either talk shows or extremely funny Japanese game shows.

For Day 1, we didn't do much since we were rather tired out from the journey. We found a 7-11 and Circle K just across the main road from the hotel so we went and bought bread and 3in1 instant coffee for our dinner.

TEN!! Double digits!! How is that possible. She's still just a baby. Before I know it, pretty soon she'll be going to boarding school, then university, then she'll be getting a job, getting married, having kids.....uwaaaa!!

This is way too soon for me.

The kids are away at their Grandparent's house and I miss them madly. Their Maksu has promised to take them for a movie today and also to buy Dania a birthday cake.
I still can't over the fact she's all grown up. Grown up into a beautiful, wonderful, amazing daughter that I'm so proud of.

If I had to list down the highlights of the trip, it would be the kimono dress up, eating authentic Japanese food, riding the bullet train and watching the sumo match up close and personal. We walked and walked all over Osaka until my back hurt and still couldn't finish all the attractions. I'll write more about what we did there in my next posts...work a-calling...back to the real world.Alonghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04216763409428044080noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8105183.post-86462853488115094252012-05-10T12:37:00.001+08:002012-05-10T12:37:41.707+08:00To All the Moms Out There...Noresh put up this link in twitter and when I saw it, it made me cry. This not only goes out to all moms out there but also to all the grandmothers, aunts and big sisters who play a huge role in defining our younger generation for the better. You gals are true heros!
Add on to the stories that my neighbors have FINALLY told me about her, I say good riddance!! I was a bit peeved that my neighbors kept her antics a secret from us but on the other hand, I understand their concerns. Ever since one of our neighbors blew up at the others because we told her about her maid, everyone has been taking the "none of my business" route. Which is such a pity. I really would have appreciated it if they had spoken up sooner...Daria might have gotten better care. But what has happened has happened and I believe all for good reason.

So for now, Dania and Dina transit at their kafa school and Daria goes to the kindergarten behind our home. Dania and Dina have been adapting well but Daria...let's just say it's a drama everytime we drop her off at school. The waterworks start happening and the begging commences. The first time it happened, I got so upset, I cried all the way to work. It hasn't gotten easier (yet) but I'm hoping Daria will adjust better as time goes by. According to her teacher, she only cries for a few minutes before settling down with the other kids.

I miss having help with the housework though. Though I must admit, I get total satisfaction when its done now. I dedicate Saturdays for springcleaning; the best part is that En Rashid helps with the dishes and the kids so it's not too bad. I still feel like crying doing the ironing tho; to ease the pain, I bring all the clothes in front of the TV and do it while watching a movie. At least, I don't feel too bored. I don't mind the cooking; the kids love it when I cook. En Rashid...well, let's just say he loves showing his appreciation. Hehehehe...

My mom has been asking whether we want a new maid. Honestly, I think we're coping just fine without. Previously, I was adamant for a maid because Daria was still a baby. Now, she's nearly 3 and can socialize so I'm not too worried. I still feel bad when we have to stay back at work and pick up the kids late. So far this has happened a few times...the first time it happened Daria was too mad to even look at me!!

But all things considering, we are doing ok. It's going to be a bit hectic next week as both En Rashid and myself are going to Osaka for my birthday (plus 3rd honeymoon) but my mom has agreed to take care of the kids while we're away. To think, one year of planning and we almost cancelled the whole trip because of what happened. I owe my mom so much!!

Oya, I'm 95% done with my MBA now!! Yahoo!! Best of all, no more classes or exams. Just left with my project paper to complete. I can't believe I've almost made it. Finals was ok considering I only had 2 papers to study for this trimester. My International Marketing was a hoot; we had to answer 4 questions and each question was worth 25 marks. The whole time during the exam I was like frantically looking for stuff to write down (it was an open book test) to cater for the 25 marks. In the end, I left the hall 30 minutes early...dah takde idea nak tulis apa. Huhuhuhu....

We're all on forced leave tomorrow thanks to The Company's AGM session with the stakeholders. They should do the AGM more often...hahahaha. En Rashid and I will be going to the Japanese Embassy to pick up our visas...hopefully everything will be ready by then.

So this post is just to update everybody that we're doing ok. Hehehee...thanks to all who inquired and expressed concern.Alonghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04216763409428044080noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8105183.post-40066962641461918102012-04-30T08:20:00.000+08:002012-04-30T08:20:46.316+08:00It's Been CrazySorry Internet for not being able to blog as frequently as I should. As the heading states, it's been crazy here at Casa Along. For starters, our maid ran away. Not only did she break into our room to steal her passport, she also took my two gold bangles as a souvenir. Which my mom bought for me. Which I hadn't even worn yet. Sigh..

Work has been crazy. Crazy enough that I had to postpone my midterms and take them at a later date. Finals are this week. Safe to say I haven't done much studying. Sigh...

But, you know what, I'm not gonna complain. Things could be much worst. At least, the kids are ok, hubby is ok, my family is ok...everything will work out for the better.

I need to do some last minute studying for my Service Marketing paper tonight so until then...be good people.Alonghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04216763409428044080noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8105183.post-3314456683924825212012-03-26T18:34:00.000+08:002012-03-26T18:34:37.983+08:00My Last Haircut of the Year
Last weekend we went to my parent's house. We haven't been back in a while due to work and study commitments plus my nephew had been diagnosed with HFM (hand, foot and mouth disease) and was recuperating at my mom's place so I refused to take the kids there.

Since En Rashid had badminton on Friday night, we decided to go on Saturday. The whole day was basically spent catching up on stuff and playing cards with my parents. I won, hahahha...despite my dad's futile attempts to play dirty.

On Sunday, my mom took us (me and the girls) out for our haircut. The nearest shop was close so we decided to head to Subang.

When I asked the amoi how much it would cost to cut her hair, she said RM10. I bargained saying that Dina only needed her fringe cut. So the amoi charged us RM5 instead.
Daria's hair is a nightmare in the sense, I could cut her hair today and next week it would be full and thick again. I asked the amoi to thin out Daria's hair at the back and make it short in front. Short enough that I didn't have to take her for a haircut for at least another month.

OK, this part I don't understand. It's not like she hasn't had a haircut before but Daria just lost it yesterday. She started crying, complete with tears running down her face, causing all of her hair to stick to her face. It took a lollipop to calm her down, even then she insisted in me holding her hand.

Here are the girls after their haircut. Not much difference actually because Dania and Dina only cut their fringe.

I got my hair cut also yesterday. Pretty dramatic one if you ask me.
I'll just list down a few stuff as a teaser..promise, I'll write in full really soon.

1. Our train ride into KL. A great way for some family bonding and to tire out the kids real fast. Haha.
2. Dania and Dina's Bijak Sifir workshop
3. Our maid problem. Like...urghhh...seriously.
4. Work stuff...went through hell but hopefully everything will turn out fine. Oya, had to postpone my International Marketing mid term because of work...sigh..
Like, seriously...I only had 8 pages typed. Itupun termasuk cover page. That other dude had 57 pages!! Granted he had a lot of graphs and pictures but at least his looked at least 80% done. Mine looked like it had been baked at the last minute, which of course was the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
I haven't had time to do anything I've wanted these days. The massage session that I've been promising myself is now 5 weeks overdue. I haven't had time to catch up on my CSI series or even The Good Wife. Sob. As much as I hate to admit it, I've even let my MBA slack quite a bit. For example, this morning we had Mid Terms for our Service Marketing (yeah, mid terms on a Saturday...fun!) and I had to wake up at 4am just to start reading the chapters. It's amazing I could even attempt to answer the questions since I was practically a zombie in the exam hall.
It's not that I'm regretting taking this promotion but I guess I'm still trying to fit in into the role. I've been such an operations kind of person that taking on the role as more of a strategist needs some getting used to. I also really need to work on my ability to delegate work among my staff. I find myself still doing operational work when I know I have competent staff to do it. It's not really a trust issue, it's because I've always been a very hands-on type of person. And now I find myself unable to be everywhere at once and I'm freaking out.
It hasn't all been bad though. Last weekend, the management level in my unit went to Lumut for a BP retreat. That was my first time going for such an occasion and I felt very much like the new girl heading there. I was worried I wouldn't be able to contribute any ideas or defend my unit's current direction. Turns out, I did rather ok and I got good constructive feedback as well. The sessions were long and went up until midnight but I did learn a lot from the other team mates. The fun part was when we all took a break and did some island hopping to Pangkor where I bought 4kg of anchovies and some dried cutlery for my staff. We then had a karaoke session during our last night there. Let's just say I did Abba and 3 Doors Down proud. Enough said! Heee...
We were suppose to go to my mom's house today but I really wanted to try attempt my case study without much distraction. If I go there, I won't be able to resist my nephew and his chubby cheeks.
