We've Got To Move It, Move It

Everyone is busy packing for our move to the new office, me included. 8 years of accumulated junk has been reduced to 3 boxes; 2 to be placed in storage while only 1 is to be brought to the new office. There is a reason for not bringing so much stuff, our new cubicles are smaller and don’t have any drawers. Instead they built lockers at the back of the room for us to place our personal stuff. It feel so High-School-Musical or 90210, whichever brings you jolly. Hahaha…

Next week we start work at our new place. We’ll see how it goes.

Pregnancy Update - 28 Weeks

Since Kampung Gal asked me how my pregnancy was coming along, I decided to give a brief update.

I’m currently 28-going-on-to29 weeks along. Can’t believe I’ve come this far. It was not so long ago, I was in a state of constantly feeling like dying. Now it’s a constant state of feeling like eating. Hahaha.

That’s right. I’m eating like a horse. Or a cow. Or whatever animal that keeps on eating 24 hours a day. I could eat a whole steak and still be hungry enough to eat a plate of spaghetti 20 minutes later. Hubby has told me not to complain (and I’m not!!) but to enjoy this time to eat luxuriously as I won’t be able to eat like this for 40 days during confinement.

Like I mentioned in my last post, I’m huge. It’s no wonder though, the way I’m stuffing my face with food. But because the rest of my body has stayed the same size, it’s becoming harder and harder for me to get around. My hips tend to give out easily and climbing stairs is becoming a real challenge. I waddle like a freaking duck and it’s not a very sexy waddle at all. Thing is, people can’t tell I’m pregnant from the back so a lot of times, I get questions on why I’m walking the way I do. A lot of people have asked me whether I’m already 8 months. My CEO even asked me if I was carrying more than one inside!! Hahahha.

I’m also experiencing other aches and pains relating to pregnancy; the most annoying one is constipation. My doctor has given me some liquid to take after meals to help with this problem, but I keep on forgetting to take it. However, compared to what I was going through 2 months ago, I can’t complain much.

My last scan was 2 weeks ago and alhamdulillah everything looks ok so far. The baby is doing well, everything on schedule and parts are where they should be. As for the sex…hmm, I guess the baby is being really secretive because everytime the doctor wanted to see, it would turn its body and show its butt!! Early signs of defiance!! So yeah, it’s still 50:50 on the sex but hubby and I really don’t mind. As long as the baby is healthy, that’s all we can wish for. Here’s a snippet of how the baby is growing, according to Babycenter.com;

By this week (28 weeks), your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (1.02kg) and measures 14.8 inches (37.6cm) from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

The girls are anxious about the baby. Dina has given up altogether asking when the baby is due to arrive. We’re trying to get into the habit of calling her kakngah instead of adik. As for sex preference, Dania wants a baby boy while Dina wants a girl. One of them is going to be so frustrated. Haha.

Did You Miss Me?

I've been away for too long. Sorry, just been really busy. Plus the fact nowadays I've been feeling really, really...pregnant. I'm currently at 28 weeks but already people are asking me when I'm off for my maternity leave. I'm that huge!! Or rather my tummy is, which is made more prominent due to the fact the rest of my body has basically stayed the same size.

I can't write for long but just to give an update of what's been happening, here's a rundown of....what's been happening (I promise to elaborate in upcoming posts).

1. Dania lost her two front teeth. Actually only one was loose, but when she went to get that pulled out (so brave!!), the other came loose too. So the doctor pulled out the 2nd one for 1/2 price. Heeee..

2. We finally installed the cabinets in the bedrooms (taken from our old house) so no more living in boxes!!

3. Hubby finally hung some of the pictures and mirrors we had lying around the house. As my bibik would comment, "now the house looks like a home."

4. I had a gals day out with my gfs. We went to see Puteri Gunung Ledang - The Musical. I was poofed at the end of the day but it was sooooo worth it.

5. We're moving office, so I'm going through that tedious process of packing again. Arghh...good news, I'll be in the same building as hubby so I don't have to drive anymore. Bad news, I have to wake up extra early as the new office is further and you need to come early to find a parking space (if not, be prepared to pay RM7 to park outside!!).

I'm sure a lot more things happened but my back is acting up again so I can't think of anything else.

Little Boy By The Road

This morning as I was driving to work, I passed by an Islamic school. I saw a disturbing sight; this small boy in uniform crying on the side of the road. He seemed like he wanted to flee the school compound but was being held back by some other boys from the school. Bigger boys. There were 4 of them. I think there were some female students too, but they just seemed to be spectators.

I can still that small boy in my mind. I wonder what he was doing near the school's gate and why he was crying. The other boys didn't seem to be hurting him, just trying to prevent him from leaving the school.

I wish I had stopped to ask what the matter was. Maybe I could have called a teacher to attention of the situation. Damn, but I was already late for work and....hmmm.

I hope the boy is ok.
