Since everyone was tired out by walking all day, we all decided to take a nap and freshen up for dinner. Initially I had planned for us to go see the Symphony of Lights but we ended up oversleeping (the show started every night at 8pm). In the end, we headed down to the Avenue of Stars at 9pm to take in the night scenery.
Walking from the hotel to the Avenue of Stars only took us 15 minutes as I had seriously studied the maps beforehand. It was then we also found the quickest and easiest way to the Tsim Sha Tsui station. We walked down Nathan Road; it reminded me of Champs-Élysées in Paris. Lots of designer stores with brands such as Hugo Boss, Chanel, Burberry and such. From Nathan Road, we had to take the subway or underground tunnel to cross Salisbury Road. Yep, in HK, a lot of the roads had to be crossed underground. I guess it was a better way of crossing the road than using an overhead bridge. Once we crossed Salisbury Road, it was just a short walk to the Avenue of Stars.
The Avenue of Stars is Hong Kong's answer to Hollywood Walk of Fame. I didn't recognise a lot of the names as they were all Hong Kong actors and actresses but some looked familiar.
Shaolin Soccer! Kung Fu Hustle! CJ7!! Hahahaha...
Jet Li!! His hands are quite small. Or are mine quite big? Hmmm..
I lurve Chow Yuen Fatt!! I think he gets handsomer as he gets older.
The shop dedicated to Jackie Chan was already closed so...
I had to be content with a picture of his hands. Again, so small!! (Or are mine...nevermind!).
Not only did they have a star for Bruce Lee...
they also had a bronze statue of him. Wachaaaaa!!
We spent 1 1/2 hours near the waterfront, taking in the sights and sounds and enjoying the night breeze. Then we walked back to the hotel for a good night's rest and to prepare for yet another day of sightseeing the following day.
aku nampak ada pattern kat sini.

ReplyDeletehi, came across your blog when i google about hong kong trip. Noticed you stayed in Citadines. I am going to HK with my family in Nov and tot of staying in Citadines. I have 2 kids, 7 and 2. Will it be sufficient and is it easy to get to the hotel from the airport. Its my first trip to HK. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAnon: You can ask for directions at the airport on how to get to Citadines. They will advise you based on the number of people in your group (if not many, you can take a cab). Since you have 2 kids, you can take one room and have the kids sleep on the sofa bed. I would recommend Citadines for the location, staff and utilities. Have fun in HK.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips on hong kong.
