Can life get any worse? I just received news that a certain someone is going to sit beside me at work. It does not help that fact I do not like this person and I’m pretty sure this certain person does not like me. So far, we’ve co-existed only because interaction has been at a minimum and at a have-to-do case basis.
Why, oh why, does this certain person want to sit beside me? Granted, the space is much bigger than the current space “the person” is occupying. But for the love of God, this is seriously jeopardizing my morale at work. And just when I was trying…seriously trying, to get back into the spirit, something like this happens.
No one thinks I’m serious when I tell them I can’t stand that person. I’m sorry, maybe it’s mighty childish of me but to tell you the truth, my job sucks enough already. If I have to see that person’s face everyday at work, I might as well quit.
People are saying, just ignore the person, maybe you’ll get along, give the person a chance. When I asked back, would YOU want that person to sit beside you, somo taknak plak. Tau pun.
Actually, that person may not turn out to be that bad. Who am I kidding? No, I’m doing that “trying to convince myself, it’s going to be ok” thing. I’m not going to be ok.
I’m not going to be OK.
Sigh….I wish hubby was here.

Alone For The Week
Hubby is in Spain. Until Sunday. Which totally sucks coz I so do not like sleeping alone. Plus I have to drive myself to and from work, and although its only a 20 minute drive each way, I usually use the ride home as a chance to catch a few winks before I have to face my two tornado-like kids at home. Which I can’t do now since I have to keep my eyes open on the road now. OK, at least one of them.
I have nothing else to report. This must be my most boring post yet. I have the urge but no energy to blog about Ugly Betty (which was awesome yesterday). Oya, talking about TV, they finally released the names of the teams who will be competing in the Amazing Race: All Stars edition. I’m very disappointed they didn’t invite Jon and Kris from Season 6. I loved those two. Colin and Christie (from Season 5) would have been great too, just because they are so emotional and would provide much entertainment with their bickering. Or that Virgin Couple, Millie and Chuck. I bet they’ve broken up by now and Chuck is getting laid every single day. A different gal for different days in the week. You know, to make up for lost time. Ouch, yeah…a bit cruel. But you’ve got to give credit to the guy; 12 years dating (at the time) and still a virgin. Un-freaking-believable.
Gotta go. Prayer time. Sakit perut ah makan limau bebanyak.

Weekend Update
How as your weekend? Mine was ok, didn’t do much. My M-I-L came for a visit, so on Saturday we took her to Alamanda for lunch then went to hubby’s cousin’s house to see his new baby twins. Twins; one boy, one girl. Wow. I had so much fun holding the babies, trying to make them cry (tido je keje) that I forgot to take any pictures.
Dania and Dina weren’t interested in the babies at first (they were grumpy from not getting enough sleep in the car) but after a while they kind of warmed up. When I asked Dania, if she would like another little sister or brother, her refusal kind of surprised me. When I asked why, she just pointed to Dina and said, “I already have Dina.” Yes, and I have RM2 in my purse but I would like to have some more. When I asked Dina the same question, she cocked her head to the side and eyed the babies suspiciously. She was like, “we’re just visiting, right? Not actually taking any of these things home with us, right?”
Hmmm, not that I foresee a problem though if we were to have another baby in the house. I remember Dania’s reaction when she found out I was pregnant with Dina (not that happy) and her reaction after Dina was born (mighty protective).
On Sunday, hubby took Dania and I to Summit to see the Best Denki sale. I wanted hubby to buy a water heater seeing how ours had busted up due to a short circuit; instead hubby bought a water thermos. Yeah, close but not quite. We all had dinner at Taipan, eating sate. Yum, hilang dah kempunan.
Nothing much to report other than the weather has been extremely hot. Yikes, they say the draught is going to last until September. Die lah!!!

Air Asia Crash? - Not Covered By The Media
Does anyone know anything about this? Why wasn't it on the news? The photos, which I received via email, look authentic enough. 
Apparently this happened at LCCT. The plane in the background looks intact but still in pretty bad shape. Arghhh, this is scary!! I’m flying using AA this April; hubby and I are going for our #4 honeymoon in Jakarta/Bandung.

Ugly Betty
What's the best soap drama ever? Knots Landing? Dallas? Bold and The Beautiful? Desperate Housewives?
For me, it's Ugly Betty.
Granted, I only saw the premier episode tonight but I have a feeling, this is one TV show I am not ever going to miss. Plus, I’m going to watch all the reruns too.
Ugly Betty is based on the ultra popular Spanish TV drama, “Yo Soy Betty La Fea”. I remember when I first got hooked on that drama series; I had just given birth to Dania and was on maternity leave for 2 months. What better way to spend my time than to be entertained by Betty and her hilarious co-workers and family members. The drama series didn’t end when I had to get back to work so I missed quite a few episodes towards the end. However, I did get to see the finale; when Betty got “unugly” and married her boss, Daniel.
Opps, spoiler? Maybe not. From what I saw tonight, the American version of Betty has some changes to the scripts. There are a few characters that were not in the Spanish version, but kind of work in the American one. Some are a bit of a stereotype (like Marc, Wilhelmina’s assistant) but they’re made to be funny so it works too.
However, I must say, the entire show wouldn’t have worked if it were not for the main character, Betty, played fabulously by America Ferrera. Despite the high-tension and backstabbing atmosphere (which is what one can expect in High Fashion), Betty brings a sense of realism and comfort to the set, with her big, shiny smile (thanks to braces, really shiny) and humble yet confident demure.
Believe me, this is one guilty pleasure one shouldn’t be ashamed off. I (heart) Ugly Betty!!

Eye On Malaysia
Yesterday was a holiday; Thaipusam for Selangor and Federal Territory day for those in KL. Because of the fact that everyone was on holiday, hubby and I were hesitant to take the kids anywhere, the thought of sitting in traffic jams or spending hours looking for a parking space just turned us off. We thought of going to Putrajaya to see the floral parade but it seemed the parade had ended earlier in the week.So instead, we decided to take our chances and see the Eye on Malaysia.
The Eye on Malaysia, the largest portable ‘observation wheel’ in the world, was unveiled by the Hon.
Prime Minister of Malaysia on 6 January 2007 in conjunction with the grand launch of the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 celebration. This giant Ferris wheel allows visitors to experience a 360-degree panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur during a 12-minute ride that goes 60 meters high. It offers a magnificent view of Kuala Lumpur and over 20 kilometers of its surroundings including KL Tower, Istana Budaya and Petronas Twin Towers. Tickets are available at the sales counter in the Titiwangsa Lake Gardens. It costs RM15 for adults and RM8 for children aged 3 to 12 and senior citizens. Heading into KL was a risk so we decided to just head out after asar and probably take a late dinner somewhere. Surprisingly, the drive to Titiwangsa was jam free. We had some trouble searching for a parking space but the line to buy the tickets for the ride was unexpectedly short. We only had to wait ½ hour or so. Very nice.
The gondolas were nice and spacious. Since there were only four of us, we had to share the gondola with another party of three, which was ok coz we all had a nice chit chat and they helped take a picture of our whole family. The other party was a group of college students from Kota Bahru who were on a student trip. We exchanged pleasantries and took loads of pictures. Our timing was just nice because we also got to see the nice sunset over the KL horizon.
After the ride, we detoured at the Keramat mosque for maghrib, then headed to Ampang Park for dinner.
It had been a while since hubby and I had ate at the Cozy Corner (the last time, I was pregnant with Dania, I think). Glad to report the food is still delicious (and cheap, compared to other places) and we all had a satisfying meal.How would I rate the Eye On Malaysia? Given the ticket rates, they did seem rather steep at first but after the ride, it was worth it. The nice weather and the short ticket line made a difference. So yes, I would suggest for everyone that gets a chance to go and ride the Eye On Malaysia.
